NEONIC BAN

NEONIC BAN

10 May 2017

AICC members are urged to contact their MP's and MEP's regarding the devastating consequences of a blanket ban on all outdoor uses of neonicotinoid seed treatments in non-bee attractive crops such as wheat, barley and sugar beet. The call comes in response to European Commission proposals to widen current neonicotinoid restrictions to ban all uses on field-grown crops, extending its current restrictions to include non-flowering crops. This is being instigated by anti-pesticide lobbying groups and in our opinion, the industry must come together to oppose such an unnecessary and cynical ban.

The vote takes place on the 17th and 18th of May so time is short.

Act now to protect the future of UK Agriculture.
